Welcome to KirbyG’s® Diner!
We’re a family‑owned, cook‑to‑order restaurant serving the community since 2008. Originally known as Chevy's Diner, we trademarked the name KirbyG’s in 2012 in honor of R. Kirby Godsey — our mentor and father, a former soda jerk and the president of Mercer University. KirbyG’s Diner is a tribute to the 1950s and to Kirby’s humble upbringing in Birmingham, AL. It reflects a time when quality food and service mattered and people cared for their neighbors..
So, Take the Pit Crew Challenge
Take a stroll down memory lane: put a name to a face, a quote to a star, and a character to a movie. For the very brave, try to find them on our walls or on our menu. Each dish on our menu is named after something from the 1950s, be it a person, place, character, or slang term. So read it cover to cover. We know it’s quirky, but you’ve never had this much fun reading a menu.
What Do We Serve?
Patrons are treated to hand-pattied burgers such as Ike's "I Like Cheese" Burger, Ole Blue Eyes and The Duke. And, if a hamburger isn't for you, diners will find mouth-watering delectables such Desi’s Fried Dill Pickles, Rock-a-Billy's Grilled Chicken, and the Whiz Kids Philly Cheesesteak. Topped off with a hand-spun shake or a cold microbrew, patrons will find that "The 50's Never Tasted Bette”
